Meet Shaina DasGupta-Burnley!

As founder and visionary of Labor of Love Services, Shaina has an extensive background in both social and medical sciences, as well as education and performing arts. She is a trained birth worker, skilled as a full-spectrum doula and birth assistant. She simultaneously imparts wisdom beyond her years and establishes rapports that are supported with love and transparency. She believes in taking the time to be acquainted with her clients like family; developing this trustworthy bond is key to creating positive, comfortable, and serene desired birth experiences. 

This happily married mother of 4 is a living testimony. Conquering coming to earth side 2 months prematurely, living with PCOS and the roller coaster rides endured to conceive successfully, equipped Shaina with the tools of knowledge, resilience, strength, and confidence, that she fills her mother's cups with consistently; that they are not alone and too steadfast. She is driven to continuously pour into her knowledge masterfully and to serve not only just her community, Detroit, but the community of mothers.  

A Detroit native, Shaina plans to use her passion and influence to make bigger strides of change. She is currently a Round 28 Motor City Match plan awardee working on an accessible women's health educational program that aids against the Maternal Infant Health mortality, racial and social disparity, within the BIPOC community in Detroit. This work, birth work, is her calling and she's truly full and blessed to have answered it.
